Obituary

Alfred Lisec departed this life January 18, 2016 at the Wilber Care Center, Wilber NE. He had resided at the Care Center for the past 18 months. Alfred was born in Gage County Nebraska on February 27, 1929 to Joseph A. Lisec and Sylvia L. (Jiskra) Lisec. Alfred attended school at Swanton, NE and went on to live the majority of his life there. He was united in marriage to Peggy Jean Brinkman on August 25, 1962. With this marriage came three step-children, whom Alfred loved and raised as his own.  Alfred accomplished many things during his life.  He owned the Swanton Lumber Company, was employed by the Swanton Co-op for many years, he was a carpenter, in 1966 he was elected Saline County commissioner, he was a member of the Swanton Fire Department, he and his wife were avid antique collectors, and he was an active member of the Swanton United Methodist Church.  Alfred is survived by his step-daughter, Pam Brinkman of DeWitt, two daughters in law, six grandchildren, two nephews, one niece, several great great grandchildren and innumerable friends of all ages.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Arnold, his wife Peggy and two step-sons, Robert Brinkman and James Brinkman.  Kuncl Funeral Home is conducting Alfred's final arrangements.  The viewing will be held Monday, January 25, 2016 from 5 - 8 PM at the Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday January 26, 2016 at the Swanton Auditorium, Swanton, NE.  Casual attire is requested.  Interment will be at the Swanton Cemetery following the services.  A Memorial Fund has been set up in Alfred's memory at Tri-County Bank of Swanton, 105 Main St., Swanton, NE  68445.
