Arlen Leonard Stahl of Crete, passed away peacefully in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 13, 2026.

Arlen was born on September 25, 1939 in Ainsworth, Nebraska to Alfred and Alice (Hansen) Stahl and grew up in Hastings, Nebraska. He married Janis Wells on December 3, 1961 and to this union 3 sons were born: Andrew Scott, Cary and Steven. He moved his family to Wilber in 1975, where he joined the Saline County Sheriff's Department, from which he retired in 2015.

Arlen enjoyed going to flee markets and finding "good deals", watching Gunsmoke, and the Huskers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janis, and son Andrew Scott.

Survivors include special friend Jean Stinson, sons: Cary (Machel) and Steve, grandsons: Dylan, Derek (Megan), Jayden, and Zane, granddaughter: Syarah, and great granddaughters Ensley and Bjorn.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Wilber Czech Cemetery. Memorials are in care of the family for future designation in lieu of flowers. Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home.
