Arlene M. (Stastny) Tuxhorn, 88, of Crete died July 6th from complications of a fall. She was born August 26, 1927, to Fred and Mary Stastny on the family farm south of Denton where she spent most of her life. She attended country school in rural Lancaster County and graduated with the Crete High class of 1945. She married Donald Tuxhorn on May 10, 1948. Shortly thereafter they took over the family farm where they remained until shortly before Don's death.

Arlene is preceded in death by husband Donald, brother-in-law Lowell, and stillborn son Dale. Arlene is survived by daughter Linda Tuxhorn Cox of Lincoln; son Gary Tuxhorn and his wife Vicki of Smithville, Missouri; grandson David Cox, wife Elizabeth and their children Analise and Emory of Haysville, Kansas; grandson Kirk Tuxhorn and fiancé Rachel Kalicki of Shawnee, Kansas; grandson Zachary Tuxhorn who is living on the family farm; and sister-in-law Mitzi Tuxhorn of Salinas, Kansas.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Crete.
