August F. Wendelin, of Hallam, Nebraska, passed away on March 24, 2023 at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 98.  He was born on September 30, 1924 to John and Sophia Wendelin.  He had 3 siblings.  August and his wife Phyllis enjoyed farming together which is what he did all of his life.  He also raised cattle and livestock.  He especially enjoyed the animals.  August and Phyllis enjoyed fishing in their spare time.  He took pleasure in cutting wood and gardening.  August is survived by his son and daughter in law:  Ron and Becky of Dragoon, AZ, daughter:  Sharon of Hallam, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his wife:  Phyllis, brother:  George, and sisters:  Pauline and Lydia.  Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Kramer.  Visitation will be on Monday from 5 – 7 PM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.  (Family will not be present).  Memorials are in care of the family for future designation.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
