Benedict J. Bartek, age 88, of Friend, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. He was born on March 13, 1934 in Dwight, Nebraska to Jerry and Georgia (Dvorak) Bartek.  Ben worked hard as a farmer and a mechanic for many years.  He was always willing to lend a hand to his neighbors with any task.  Ben never married.

He was preceded in death by his father Jerry, mother Georgia, step-mother Bessie, brothers: Albert, Valerian, Leonard, and Gerald, sister Angela Lucas, step-brother Art Pracheil, and step-sister Pauline Nannen.

He is survived by his half-sister Marlene Bartek, step-sisters: Wilma Chrastil and Evelyn Kasl, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11 am at Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete. Cremation; no visitation.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete, NE.
