Steuer
March 2, 1931 – July 29, 2025
Bernice Ella (Dittmer) Steuer passed away on July 29th in Crete, Nebraska surrounded by family. Bernice was born March 2nd, 1931, on a farm east of Crete to Minnie (Masenthin) and William Dittmer. She was baptized March 28th, 1931, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kramer, Nebraska and confirmed May 20th, 1945, also in Kramer.
Bernice was united in marriage to Dolyn Steuer on August 13, 1950. To this union four children were born; Larry, Susan, Lynn, and Sara. Bernice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served as a Sunday School and Midweek teacher for many years. In her later years, she enjoyed helping the church by making food and serving for funeral lunches.
Bernice will always be remembered as being a kind soul to everyone. She loved being involved with family events and always enjoyed updates on all family members; her love never stopped.
She is survived by daughters Susan and (Don) Beranek of Snohomish, WA and Sara and (Todd) Morton of Eagle, NE. She is survived by her son Lynn Steuer of Crete, NE, and daughter-in-law Deb Steuer of Crete, NE. Grandchildren Ben Beranek, Lori and (Tom) Fuller, Troy and (Mandy) Steuer, Nathan Steuer and Christina Peatrowsky, Zach and (Kyla) Morton, Emily and (Ben) Wesely, Kaylee and (Jered) McGill, Ali and (Nate) Prochaska, and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Darleen Dittmer and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dolyn, son Larry and brother Elmer Dittmer.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete. Visitation will be Friday from 5 – 7 PM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
