William "Bill" August, 79, of Lincoln, formerly Dorchester, passed away on October 23, 2023.  He was born on July 11, 1944 in Seward, Nebraska to Warren and Marie (Bauer) August.  Bill attended Dorchester Public School and graduated with the class of 1962.  He went on to attend Southeast Community College (SCC) in Milford from which he received his associate degree.  Bill served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from September 5, 1967 to January 15, 1969.  He married Susan Marie Brolhorst on February 15, 1969, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete and they made their home in Dorchester.  Bill continued his career with SCC for over 40 years and served as Program Chair; instructing Diesel Technology for Farm and Truck, John Deere Tech, and Deere Construction and Forestry Equipment Technology.  Bill is preceded in death by his parents:  Warren and Marie, parents in law:  Ralph and Lorraine Brolhorst and brother in law:  Gary Brolhorst.  He is survived by his wife:  Susan, son and daughter in law:  Andy and Michelle August, daughter and son in law:  April (August) and Bob Schultz, grandchildren:  Alex August, Maddy August and Maycie Schultz, sister:  Jeannette Logan as well as nieces and nephews.  Celebration of Life:  Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.  No visitation.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
