Bonnie Marie (Hoffman) Malone (81), passed away at her home in Lincoln, NE surrounded by family. She was born to Fred F. and Vlasta (Petracek) Hoffman, raised on the family farm just east of Wilber, NE, and graduated from Wilber-Clatonia High School in 1962. On August 22, 1964, Bonnie married Robert Malone. She and Robert worked their way through UNL, and Bonnie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Chemistry minor. She went on to work at the Nebraska Health Department Lab, the Food & Drug Administration's quality lab in Kansas City, and in a quality control lab in Crete.

Bonnie will be forever remembered for her ready smile, quick laugh, and ability to talk to anyone, which she put to work in the community.

For her service with the Lincoln Mrs. Jaycees, as president, board member, and advisor, she received the Distinguished Service Award and Life Membership Award.  Bonnie was also a member of Sheridan Lutheran Church-Social Concerns Board, the Crete Library Board, and Crete Community Concerns Projects.

Proud of her NE-Czech heritage, she was a member of the Nebraska Czechs of Wilber, recipient of the Wilber Ladies of Libuse Award, member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Wilber, and Wilber Literary Guild.

Bonnie enjoyed reading, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and collecting fountain pens and antiques. She was a fan of the Phillies and both the UNL softball and volleyball teams. Most of all, she delighted in spending time with her children. She leaves her grandchildren with lifelong memories of adventures on the family farm and the indelible mark of a grandmother's love.

Bonnie is survived by Robert, her husband of sixty-one years, son Stuart, his wife Jacqueline, and children Elise and Evan, of KC, MO, and daughter Jayne, grand-dog Izzy of Lincoln.

Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Frank Fred Hoffman.
