Bounthom Sisouvong, 61, passed away while surrounded by his family at the Bryan Medical Center East Campus in Lincoln on Sunday morning, February 3, 2019. Bounthom is survived by his wife of 44 years, Thong Sisouvong, sons Thoun Sisouvong, Douang Sisouvong, Lucky Sisouvong, daughters Bangone Sisouvong, Phat Sisouvong, and many loving nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. As a native of Vientiane, Laos, he served as a Sergeant in the Laos Army for 3 years. He and his family immigrated to Garden City, Kansas on December 23, 1989, and then moved to Crete, Nebraska in 1996. He became an American Citizen in 1999. He worked many hard years to support his growing family. As a father, he was strict but also kind and supportive. He loved his family more than anything, teaching them important life skills and lessons, to be respectful of others, always encouraged them to be their very best, and most importantly, to love and take care of one another. He had many hobbies which included fishing, hunting, woodwork, and gardening. He spent many of his days with his wife and all of his children and grandchildren, loving each and every one of them in his own way. The family would like the give special thanks to the medical staff at Bryan Medical Center East Campus, to the Kuncl Funeral Home, and to the Wat Buddhabarame of Nebraska. A wake will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 3 - 8 PM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.  Services will be on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete is handling arrangements.
