Obituary

Camille (Homolka) Formanek was born on a farm west of Wilber, daughter of William and Sylvia (Jelinek) Homolka on August 3, 1919 and passed away on July 6, 2019 at Tabitha in Crete. She attended rural school District 84 and graduated from Wilber High School in 1936. She enrolled at Doane College and also University of Nebraska. She taught school for 21 years. The farm was recognized as a 100 year farm and the family was presented an award for that in 1984. They had two sons, Allen and Roger. In 1973 they bought a house in Crete where they resided. She then was associated with the J.C. Penny's store where she worked for 10 years in the sales department. She lived for her family, they were her life. She volunteered many hours of her time as that was a chance to meet people and help people and that was rewarding part of why she volunteered as people were very important to her. She was a member of the Sokols and officer for 10 years, of Eagles Auxiliary 3909 where she held an office for several years, Pythian Sisters, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the ZCBJ Lodge of Saline Center and upon joining became President of their initiating team.
