We announce Ceremony of Life Services for Carol will be held privately in Crete and Scottsbluff prior to her Memorial Graveside Service in Scottsbluff.

A Graveside Committal of Ashes beside our Dad will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff on August 23rd at 2 pm followed by Her Ceremony of Life Reception at Monument Bible Church.

No memorials are suggested.

Carol Joy (Sprankle) Laucomer was born to Oscar Harvey & Joy Iva (Shattuch) Sprankle on April 25, 1930, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She passed peacefully into presence of Christ on August 5, 2024, under the care of the Crete Area Hospital at the age of 94 years.

Carol and Charles were married on August 31, 1952, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They established their family on a Sioux County ranch north of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and raised their four children: Rodney, Kenneth, Wayne, and Rhonda.

They celebrated their 50th Anniversary at the Ranch with their family.

Carol continued to manage Spear Diamond Ranch with assistance of family after our Dad died in 2004. After a long eventful and death defying life on the ranch which included over playful cattle injuries, almost trapped in a corn feed shed, rattle snake bite, blizzard highway accident that total both vehicles at the age of 85, and a fall on ice at ranch before Christmas of 2017; Carol moved from the ranch to Regional West Village and enjoyed independent and assisted living with new friends and family visits.

In July of 2022 she received a pacemaker in Fort Collins, other medical attention in Lincoln, NE; until she officially moved to Crete, NE to live with her son Rod and to be closer to her loving and caring grand and great grandchildren for her last 8 months.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, brother, husband, granddaughter, and all of her generation of family and closest friends.

She is survived by her children Rodney (Kate) Laucomer of Crete, NE; Kenneth (Monalisa) Laucomer of Russell, KS; Wayne (Nancy) Laucomer of Scottsbluff, NE; and her only daughter born on her birthday Rhonda (Evgeni) Genchev of Arizona.

Rodney's son Chad (Ryssa) Laucomer of Lincoln, NE; son Sam (Ally) Drevo with son Marshal of Lincoln, NE; and daughter Kat (Roman) Nelson of Crete, NE with their children: Amy, Mikey, Esther, and Shiloh.

Kenneth's son Jeff Laucomer and son Ken of Russell, KS.

Wayne's son Jordan Laucomer of Scottsbluff, NE; Lane (Shanna) Laucomer with daughter Lia and coming son of Grand Island, NE; and Matt Laucomer of Scottsbluff, NE.

Rhonda's daughters Jasmyn of Boston, MA; and Alexandria of Troy, NY.
