Carol (Egner) Patton, daughter of Clarence and Ruth Egner, was born on April 8, 1947.  She departed this life on July 27, 2024, at the age of 77, after a courageous battle of cancer.

Carol grew up in Hallam, NE and graduated from Crete Public Schools in 1965.  She was united in marriage to James Patton.  To this union, 3 children were born:  Brenda, Bradley and Chadd.  She was a homemaker and devoted mother.  She enjoyed playing games, Bingo, fishing and camping and car races.  She made Crete her home since 2007.  Left to cherish her memories are sons:  Brad Patton, Chadd (Lori) Patton, both of Crete, daughter:  Brenda (Randy) Williams of Fairbury.  Special niece and nephews:  Shelley Zimmer, Jon Egner and Mike Egner.  Grandchildren: Keith (Dani) Korbel, Matthew (Megan) Korbel, Kasey (Jordan) DeWitte, Taylor Patton and special friend Jered Tiedeman, Morgan Patton, Mike (Sarah) Straub, Nikki (Andrew) Lichtenberg, Cole Williams and special friend Ami Howard, and Sydney Patton.  Brother:  Tom (Elka) Egner of Chula Vista, CA.  Brothers in law:  Tom (Dorothy) Messman and Glen (Rita) Patton, all of Crete.  15 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband:  James, mother and father-in-law:  Roy and Lu Patton, brothers: Jim Egner and Jo Egner, great grandson:  Kase Korbel, granddaughter in law:  Bridgette Korbel.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heath Catholic Cemetery in Crete with a luncheon to follow at the Sacred Heart Church fellowship hall.  The family requests casual attire for those attending. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9 AM - 8 PM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.  A Rosary will be held at 6 PM.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
