Obituary

Carol Slama, 65, of Crete, passed away on May 7, 2016 in Lincoln NE. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilber with Rev. Travis Panning officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.

Carol was born April 1, 1951 in Beatrice, NE, the daughter of Raymond and Gladys (Neel) Wattjes. Carol graduated from Wilber-Clatonia High School in 1969. She married the love of her life James Slama on December 4, 1971. She was an active homemaker who always put others needs over her own.

Carol was a devoted daughter, wife, sister and aunt. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery James; mother, Gladys and father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Helen Slama.
Left to cherish Carol's memory is her husband, Jim of Crete; father, Raymond J. Wattjes of Wilber; sister Patricia Schulte and family of Lincoln; brother, Ray Wattjes and family of Lincoln; brothers and sisters-in-law Ed and Darlene Slama and family of Wilber, Frank and Denise Slama and family of Dorchester and close family friends Randy and Shirley Zoubek.

A memorial fund has been established in Carol's name. Memorials will be donated to the Saline County Area Transit who transported her to dialysis three times a week since 1995 and the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilber. Condolences may be left at kunclfh.com.
