Cindy K. (Hochstetler) Scherer, 60, of Crete passed away on January 27, 2017. She was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on February 11, 1956 to Maynard and Ardis (Flowers) Hochstetler. Cindy graduated from Dorchester High School in 1974 and then Josephs College of Beauty in 1976. She worked the past 15 years for Nestle Purina in Crete, Nebraska.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Scherer of Crete, NE; son, Terry Parks Jr. of San Diego, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Cammeron Landes-Little and Shaun Little of Elkhorn, NE; grandchildren, Skylee Parks and Shellee Parks of San Diego, CA, Damian Beber and Dalton Beber of Elkhorn, NE; mother, Ardis Hochstetler of Crete, NE; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dela and John Miller of Lincoln, NE, Betty Hochstetler of Cozad, NE, Doris and Dave Ritchie of Seward, NE , Becky Hochstetler of Crete, NE; brothers and sisters-in-law, Maynard and Donna Hochstetler of Crete, NE, Dave and Shelly Hochstetler of Wilber, NE; mother-in-law, Ila Scherer of Grand Island, NE; sisters-in-law, Sheryl Scherer of Bellevue, NE, Carla and Rick Chancellor of South Korea, brother-in-law, Gary Scherer of Grand Island, NE; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Cindy is preceded in death by her father, Maynard Hochstetler; nephew, Ryan Hochstetler; niece, Amy McCracken; father-in-law, Carl Scherer and brother-in-law, Rod Scherer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at New Haven Baptist Church, 2140 Hawthorne in Crete, NE with Pastor Dan Botterbrodt officiating.
