Danette Joy (Underwood) McLain died suddenly in her sleep on November 18th at her home in Crete, Nebraska.
Danette was born on October 7th, 1967 at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth Virginia. She attended Crete Public Schools graduating from Crete High School in 1985. She attended SCC Lincoln and graduated with honors to become a LPN and later graduated from The College of Hair Design and was a barber in Lincoln, NE for the last 20+ years.
Danette is survived by her companion, John Determan of Crete, daughter and companion Taylor McLain and John Pfortmiller of Rapid City SD, son Blake McLain of Lincoln, Mother and Step Father Deborah (Zeiss) and Ed Shaw of Lincoln, Father Dan Underwood of Crete, Grandfather Don Zeiss of Lincoln, Sister Danielle Bingham of Lincoln, Sister and spouse Jessica and Nikki Loos of Lincoln, Brother and spouse Dan and Becca Underwood of Crete, Step Brother and spouse Scott and Marla Shaw of Lincoln, Nephews Parker Bingham, Dan Evan Underwood, Alex Johnson, Hogan Shaw and Justin Shaw, Nieces Lilian and Evelyn Underwood, extended family Aaron Determan, Joshua Determan, Alexis Determan, many cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by grandmothers Genevieve Zeiss and Annie Zeiss, Grandfather Dan Underwood, Great Grandparents Monte and Katherine Knippel and step brother Gregg Shaw.
Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 25th at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. There will be no visitation held. Memorials in lieu of flowers in care of the family for future designation.
