Darlene M (Wendelin) Acord of Crete passed away on June 10, 2016, at the age of 92. She was born on June 14, 1923, to Mike and Mary (Asseln) Wendelin in rural Lancaster County. Darlene was married to Don Acord in 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. She was employed by Lincoln Telephone & Telegraph for many years.

Survivors include daughter, Donna Henning of Crete; grandchildren and spouses, Blake & Michele Henning of Missoula, MT, Kelly & Steve Behlen of Seward, Troy & Cari Henning of Crete and Chad Henning of Lincoln; great- grandchildren, Sara (fiancé Eddy) & Jessica Henning, Brittney & Josh Sladky, Hailey, Megan & Josh Behlen, Kaylie & Seth Brethouwer & Justin (fiancé Nicole) Henning; great-great-grandchildren, Elijah & Gage Sladky, Easton & Addilyn Brethouwer; sister-in-law, Carol Wendelin; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband Don; son- in-law, Jerry Henning; sisters, Gladys Schlichtemeier & Marfay Clark; brothers, Roland Wendelin and Darald Wendelin.

Services are Tuesday, 11:00 am, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Crete. Interment will be prior to services at Lincoln Memorial Park at 9:30 am. Visitation: Monday, 6 – 8 pm, Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete. Memorials have been designated to the church.
