David Edward Busboom of Crete passed away on September 17, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born to parents B. Edward and Phyllis (Rethmeier) Busboom on July 8,1947 in Lincoln, NE.

David lived and worked on his family's farm west of Crete. He was also employed at Beatrice Concrete in Crete for a number of years. David attended Dist. 31 Diamond School through 8th grade and graduated from Dorchester High School in 1965. He was a lifelong member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Crete where he was a Deacon. He was an avid reader and enjoyed attending sporting events.

David was preceded in death by his parents, brother Thomas Busboom, nephew Aaron Novak, and great nephew Mason Dixon. He is survived by sister Susan (Deane) Novak of Lake Havasu City, AZ, brother Alan (Regina) Busboom of Norfolk, and sister-in-law Pamela Busboom of Crete. Nieces: Sabrina (Jesse) Dixon of Milford, Amanda (Charlie) Howe of Bellevue, Andrea (Josh) Bakenhus of Elkhorn, and Elizabeth (Komlan) Amegbeto of Elkhorn. Nephews: Ben (Karla) Busboom of Omaha, Tim (Stephanie) Gall of Topeka, KS, and Jeremy (Holly) Gall of Elkhorn. Additionally, several great nieces and nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held for David on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Plymouth Congregational Church in Crete, NE. Private interment for family will follow. Memorials received will be directed to the Crete Library in David's name
