David Joe Elrod, 71, of Crete, Nebraska passed away November 19th, 2021 in Fairmont, Nebraska.  David was born on September 24th, 1950 in Lincoln, Nebraska.  He was raised on a dairy farm near Denton.  David graduated from Crete High School in 1968.  After High School David served four years in the army where he received sharp shooter status.  He spent two of those four years in Germany.

David graduated from Southeast Community College in Milford as an electrician and later became a master electrician.  He traveled from state to state following construction work.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.

David was preceded in death by his parents Joe and June Elrod.

Survivors include his three sisters: Shirley (Alvin) Aksamit of Wilber, Donna (Rick) Thompson of Omaha and Linda (Dean) Richter of Bokeelia, Florida, many nieces and nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber.
