David Lee Thompson was born on April 8, 1962 to Michael and Janet (Claussen) Thompson in Wakefield, Nebraska and passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 at the age of 60 after a battle with cancer. David was very strong and fought to the end when he passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
David was a 1981 graduate of Wilber-Clatonia where he played football and wrestled. After High school, David went to work at Farmland Foods/Smithfield until his retirement in 2021.
David married Pam Church on April 24, 1993 in Wilber, Nebraska. He enjoyed spending time at his shop building hotrods, going to trap shoots, racing, remodeling houses, but most of all David loved his family and time spending time with them.
David was preceded in death by his father Mike Thompson, father-in-law Dennis Church, grandparents Philo and Gladys Thompson, Emil and Elsie Claussen, nephew Lucas Bowers and many aunts and uncles.
David is survived by his wife Pam, children: Bradlee Braden, Kirk (Kami) Braden, Meagan (Chuck) Asher, all of Wilber, Nebraska. Grandchildren: Garrett and Gavin Braden, Raeleigh Braden, Briggs and Charli Asher. Mother, Janet Thompson. Mother-in-law, Sandy Church. Siblings and spouses: Loren (Penny) Thompson, Brad (Jolien) Thompson, Penny (Joel) Bowers, Candy (Tony) Halter, Robert Thompson, Brothers-in-law: Steve (Sheila) Church, Jim (Michelle) Church and Jerry (Tracy) Church.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Sokol Hall in Wilber, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 5pm-7pm at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber.
Memorials entrusted to the family for future designation. Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home. Casual attire requested
