Delmar W. Forst was born on September 23, 1936 to Fredrick and Mary (Bespalec) in Crete, Nebraska and passed away on November 15, 2019 at the age of 83 years. He resided on a farm near Milford, Nebraska and graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas with a bachelor's degree in Philosophy. Delmar served in the US Army Reserves from 1959 to 1960. He worked at Farmland Foods from the day the plant opened until his retirement in 2003 and in the years of employment maintained perfect attendance. He loved to polka and enjoyed trains. While growing up he attended Mass in Latin which gave him a penchant for languages and taught himself Spanish and became totally fluent. Delmar was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish serving as Acolyte. He loved his parish dearly as he received all of his sacraments at Sacred Heart. Survivors include his son, John of Omaha, daughter, Sonja (Forst) Viramontes of Austin, Texas. Delmar so loved being a grandpa to Andy, Chanley, Megan, Isabel and Genevieve. He was preceded in death by his parents Fredrick and Mary Forst. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crete with a Rosary at 10:00 A.m.  Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete is in charge of arrangements.
