Obituary

Delores Jean Dvorak, 86, of Aurora, Colorado, formerly of Dorchester, passed away March 8, 2021, at her apartment at Garden Plaza in Aurora.

Delores was born June 29, 1934, in Saline County, to the late Joe and Mary (Tupa) Hojer. She graduated from Dorchester High School in 1951. On Nov. 9, 1954, she married Robert Dvorak at The United Methodist Church. They were the parents of four daughters: Barbara, Ann, Sharon and Janet.

They lived in Des Moines, Iowa, Rochester, Minnesota, and Palatine, Illinois. While in Palatine, Delores was involved with the Methodist Church as a Sunday School teacher for several years. She was also involved in the PTA and served as a Brownie leader and Junior Scout Coordinator with the Girl Scouts Organization. She worked for a travel agency and later worked as a teacher's aide for a school for special needs children.

After Robert retired from IBM, they moved back to Dorchester in 1987. Delores was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dorchester and was a member of the United Methodist Women, serving as treasurer, vice president, president and a conference delegate. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 264, serving her unit as president and treasurer.  In 2012, she moved to Aurora, Colorado where her daughters and most of her grandchildren reside.

Delores enjoyed camping trips with family, bowling, golfing, sewing, crafting and visiting children and grandchildren on the farm in Dorchester.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara Jones and husband Scott of Aurora, Ann O'Donnell and husband Ed of Morrison, Colorado, Sharon Pfannenstiel and husband Chris of Lakewood, Colorado; five grandchildren, Chris and Jason Jones of Aurora, Brent O'Donnell and wife Stephanie of Arvada, Colorado, Jordyn (O'Donnell) Janes and husband Mike of El Paso, Texas, Nicole (Pfannenstiel) McIntosh and husband Andy of Hudson, Colorado; and two great-grandchildren, Molly Gail and Graeme Patrick O'Donnell. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jerry Boden of Milford. Delores was preceded in death by husband, Robert; daughter, Janet; and sister, Kathy Boden.

Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Those who new Delores are invited to a Memorial Luncheon on April 24 th at Dorchester United Methodist Church, 612 Lincoln Ave, from Noon to 2:00.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Dorchester or the American Legion Auxiliary.
