Dianne Eunice (Reetz) Kouba was born October 15, 1948, in Seward, NE to Louis & Rose (Pohl) Reetz and passed away on August 7, 2025, in Crete. She was baptized in Staplehurst at Zion Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kramer, NE. At St. John's she attended a one room schoolhouse, later finishing her education at Crete Public Schools graduating in 1966.

After graduation she met Dale Kouba & was married September 7, 1968. To this union two daughters, Jill & Joy were born.

Dianne worked for Sack Lumber Company, had an in-home daycare & spent 32 years in the cafeteria at Crete Public Schools.  She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Kramer where she served as Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher & member of Ladies Aid, she was the leader of a Girl Scout Brownie troop & helped with Crete's Community Blood Drive for many years.

Dianne loved & cherished her family. She always had a smile on her face. Over the years was known for lifting spirits by mailing cards to family & friends.

She is survived by her daughter Jill (Dale) Schuerman of Lincoln, NE, daughter Joy Kouba of Crete, NE, grandson Ryley (Kierstin) Schuerman, new great-granddaughter Aurora Schuerman of Lincoln, NE, brothers Elmer (Shirley) Reetz & Allan (Janice) Reetz, brother-in-law Jerome Kalkwarf, sisters-in-law Janice Reetz, Betty Reetz & Jolene Reetz of Crete, NE and many nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, sisters Gloria Woodruff & Donna Kalkwarf, brothers Lavern Reetz, Clarence Reetz, Roger Reetz & Gerald Reetz, brothers-in-law Lyle Kouba, Bob Woodruff & nieces Lynette June & Michelle Reetz.

A celebration of Dianne's life will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kramer, NE on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The service will be livestreamed and can be accessed at https://studio.youtube.com/video/NZITOR_6a2o/livestreaming . Please plan to attend lunch following the service hosted by the Ladies Aid, a group Dianne was always proudly a member of. Interment will be following lunch at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Lincoln, NE.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete, NE.

Memorials are in care of the family of future designation.

Pallbearers are Terry Reetz, Morris Woodruff, Ken Woodruff, Tim Reetz, Kurt Reetz, Brian Reetz, Ron Kalkwarf, Greg Kalkwarf, Chris Kirkpatrick.
