On Saturday July 23rd, 2022, Dianne Sue Wanek loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother of Wilber passed away peacefully at home. She was born August 6, 1950 to Tommy and Mavis Houser in Crete, Ne.

She graduated from Wilber-Clatonia High School in 1968. She then attended Joseph's college of Beauty in Lincoln. She married Curtis Dale Wanek on November 29, 1969 and lived in Geneva, Ne. They moved to Wilber, NE in July 1974. In 1982 she began working at the Wilber Care Center where she worked for 30 years. In 1991 she went back to school to become an LPN.

She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis, parents Tommy and Mavis Houser, and brother David Houser. She is survived by her sister Doris Koll and brother in law Kenneth Koll, brother in law Leslie Wanek. Sons Donald Wanek and wife Terri of Crete, Brad Wanek and wife Keli of Beatrice, Scott Wanek of Lincoln. 21 grandkids, 14 Great Grandkids, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 6 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home.  Memorials are in care of the family for future designation.
