Donna M. Kalkwarf of Crete, passed away on April 1, 2018 at the Wilber Care Center after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born December 7, 1943 in York, NE to Louis and Rose Reetz. Donna was baptized December 25, 1943 in York and confirmed March 30, 1958 in Kramer. She graduated high school in 1962 from Crete Public Schools. Donna married Jerome Kalkwarf on November 29, 1964 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kramer. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years at St. John's. Donna loved her flowers, especially her rose bushes. Donna is survived by her husband Jerome, son Ron of Lincoln, son Greg and his wife Kirsta along with their children Bryce and Teagan of Conifer, CO, sister Dianne Kouba and brothers and sisters-in-law Elmer and Shirley Reetz, Gerald and Jolene Reetz, Allan and Janice Reetz, Betty Reetz (Roger), Janice Reetz (Lavern) all from Crete. Additional in-laws Gary and Jean Kalkwarf of Crete, Roger and Susie Kalkwarf of Lincoln, Rod and Donna Kalkwarf of Seward. Nieces and nephews include Lynette June, Terry and Julie Reetz, Ken and Barb Woodruff, Morris and Denise Woodruff, Gayle and Dennis Mattox, Tim and Chris Reetz, Kristi Reetz, Kelly Reetz, Kurt Reetz, Cheryl and Mike Langfeldt, Brian Reetz, Janelle Reetz, Michelle Reetz, Jill and Dale Schuerman, Joy Kouba, Chris and Jessica Kirkpatrick, Lauri Lindschmidt, Dale Hansen, Lori and Tom Svehla, Mark and Diane Kalkwarf, Todd Kalkwarf, Candi Owens, Trevor and Sonja Kalkwarf, Amber and Shane Bass, Karmin and Brian Clish, Krista and Joe Mullins. Also many great nieces and nephews and several great, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Rose Reetz, brothers Clarence Reetz, Lavern Reetz, and Roger Reetz, sister Gloria Woodruff and brother-in-law Robert Woodruff, and brother-in-law Dale Kouba. Funeral home visitation will be held April 3, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. Funeral services will be held April 4 at 10:30 am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kramer. Burial to follow at Lincoln Memorial Park in Lincoln. Memorials to the St. John's Lutheran Church in Kramer, the Alzheimer's Association, or other charities designated by the family.
