Donna Schlake was born June 10, 1952 in Crete, Nebraska to Clarence and Darlene Schlake. Donna was the eldest of six children. She departed this life on October 4, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Darlene, and her siblings Shirley Schlake and Cindy Schlake.

Donna was more than an aunt. Donna supported each of her nieces and nephews in every endeavor and activity they participated in. Whether it was a game, cross country meet, concert, awards night – Donna was always there to support and cheer on her family. And, as the nieces and nephews grew older and had their own children, Donna thrived again watching the new generation's activities; albeit mostly via livestream over the last 18 months, Donna loved spending time with and watching her great nieces and nephews grow.

Donna enjoyed serving the Lord and spent much of her life volunteering at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  She helped spread the word of God by teaching Sunday School for many years. She eventually became the Sunday School Superintendent and organized the entire program with her lifelong friend Jeanette Maas. After retiring from work, she joined the quilting group and helped make 122 quilts this year for the Orphan Grain Train. Donna also spent many hours volunteering for various activities at the church.

Donna is survived by her siblings: Dennis and Jodi Schlake, Joyce and Rich Fuller and Barb and Mark Mundt.

Nieces and Nephews: Ryan and Katie Fuller of South Dakota, April and Trevor Paschall, Crystal and Jay  Svoboda, Jason and JoHanna Mundt, Stephanie Mundt and Billy Meyer, Ashley Mundt and Fiancé Arnel Sekovic, and Denise and Richard Babcock.

Great Nieces and Nephews: Morgan Brown, Chloe Meyer, Reighan and Brynlee Paschall, Harper and Dexter Fuller, Lilly and William Mundt and Alayna Sekovic.

Donna's Celebration of Life will be held Monday, October 11 ^th at 10:30 am, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Crete, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, October 10 ^th from 2-4 pm at Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete, NE.  Memorials are in care of the family for future designation.
