Doris Joan Hynek, 89, of Wilber, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 27, 2017. She was born on March 6, 1928 to Edward and Albina (Ourecky) Jelinek in Dorchester, Nebraska. She graduated from Dorchester Public Schools. Doris was united in marriage to George J. Hynek on March 6, 1951 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilber, Nebraska. She was a lifetime farm wife and cook in the Wilber-Clatonia School system for 28 years.
Survivors include her husband: George of Wilber, daughter: Karen Kay Johnson of Beatrice, son and daughter in law: Terry Lee and Carmen Hynek of Wilber, granddaughters: Dana and husband Tom Hughes of Beatrice, Amanda Gushard and significant other James Doiel of Wilber, grandson: Michael Gushard and significant other Wendi Haufle of Lincoln, great grandsons: Brody Scott Hughes of Beatrice and Brock Thomas Doiel of Wilber.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Albina (Ourecky) Jelinek, parents in law: George and Lydia (Svancara) Hynek and son in law: Scott Johnson.
Services: Wednesday, 2:00 pm, Kuncl Funeral Home, Wilber. Viewing: Tuesday, 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home. Memorials have been designated to the family's choice.
