Doris Mae Moneypenny of Wilber passed away surrounded by her family on November 10, 2018. She was 89 years young. Doris was born on May 10, 1929 on a farm north of Swanton. She married her first love Ervin Kastanek on January 18, 1947. To this union 3 boys; James, Kenneth and Gary were born. She worked as a seamstress at Formit Rogers for 25 years and waitressed at the Red Rooster in Jansen. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed spoiling them when they visited. After retirement, she would always be seen in Swanton with her sisters in-law, Bertha and Viola Strouf. Known for her beautiful white hair, she was proud to say she turned white at age 23. After the death of her first husband Ervin in 1992, she met Kenneth Moneypenny and married on September 30, 1997 and resided in Wilber. Doris enjoyed meeting for coffee downtown and visiting with friends. In the afternoons you could see Kenneth and Doris traveling the countryside in Saline County. In 2016 Kenneth and Doris moved to the Wilber Care Center Assisted Living and she resided there until her death. Doris is survived by her husband of 21 years, Kenneth. Sons: Jim (Mary), Kenneth, and Gary Kastanek. Grandchildren: Tonya (Dave) Sacks of Lincoln, Heather (Tim) Sejkora of Cortland, Anthony (Hana) Kastanek of Omaha, Jason (Vicky) Kastanek of Syracuse, Lucas Frahm of Dallas and Tara Frahm of Knoxville, Ill. Great Grandchildren: Ryleigh Sejkora, Keegan Sejkora, Karlee Schwisow, Kyle Schwisow, Jordan Sacks and Justin Sacks all of Lincoln. Sister, Phyllis (Gary) Allen. Many nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, sisters in law, brother in law and daughters in law. A celebration of Doris' life will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber. Casual attire is requested. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Memorials may be given to the family for a charitable donation to be made in Doris' memory at a later date. Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber is in charge of arrangements.
