Dorothy Darlene Kubicek (82) of Crete passed away February 24, 2019. Dorothy was born May 8, 1936 to Alvin and Agnes (Bohac) Novotny. She graduated from Crete High School in 1955 and married Stanley Kubicek. After Stanley passed in 1976 Dorothy stayed on the family farm to raise their four children and remained on the farm until her passing. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing the accordion, polka music, wildlife and crossword puzzles. She worked at Formfit, Wilber Care Center and Villa Madrid. Dorothy is survived by her children David (Brenda) Kubicek of Lincoln, Duane (Lori) Kubicek, Diane (Mark) Kalkwarf, Doug Kubicek and friend Melissa Goff all of Crete. 8 grandchildren; Kaleb Kubicek of West Jordan Utah, Landon Kubicek of Gretna, Jacob (Hannah) Kubicek of Crete, Brandon Kalkwarf of Crete, Kyle Kubicek of York, Connor Kubicek, Courtney Kubicek and Kaylee Goff of Crete and Great Grandson Henry Kubicek. She was preceded in death by husband Stanley, baby son Daryl Lee, father Alvin Novotny, mother Agnes Fink, stepfather Louis Fink and sister Rosemarie Moats. Services will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019, 10:00 am at Kuncl Funeral Home. Interment at Crete Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 27th 5:00-7:00 at Kuncl Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
