Elaine R. Sebek, age 80 of Wilber, Nebraska was born to Charles and Stella (Sevenker) Sebek on October 27, 1941, on the family farm in Saline County near DeWitt, Nebraska and passed away at the Wilber Care Center on July 5, 2022.

She attended Garton Country School District 93 and graduated from Wilber High School. Later she completed a National Business Course in Lincoln receiving her diploma in June of 1960.  After this she was employed by R. L. Polk Company in the Department of Motor Vehicles for the State of Nebraska for ten years. This job involved recording daily new car and truck sales for the State of Nebraska.  Later she was employed with a Stock Brokerage firm in downtown Lincoln and in 1969 she became employed by the State of Nebraska, Driver License Examiner Division for four years.  After this the remainder was spent with the Department of Revenue and finally the Saline County Court for fifteen years after which she retired in 1993. She loved country music, gardening and flower gardening and NASCAR Auto Races. Besides gardening she loved feeding and watching the birds and pounding on the window to chase the squirrels and blackbirds away.  Elaine had the opportunity to travel to many states and also Canada.  One of her trips, to New York City in 1965, there she visited the Statue of Liberty, attended the World's Fair and a Broadway play, Barefoot in the Park at the Biltmore Theater.  After her retirement she spent many days at M & D Bar playing cards with the old boys.  Elaine was the kind of woman who spoke her mind, a bit abrasive most of the time, she could tell you what she thought in a word or two but, once she moved into the Wilber Care Center, she become soft, happy and friendly.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Stella Sebek, her brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Darlene Sebek, nephews, Richard C. Sebek and Ronald J. Sebek.

She is survived by her niece, Pam and husband Randy Vajgrt of Lincoln, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 2 PM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber, Nebraska.   A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.  Interment at Wilber Czech Cemetery.  Memorials to the family for future designation.
