Ellen May (Vilda) Vlasak, 94, of Adams, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, October 11, 2025. She was born on May 11, 1931, to Lydamor and Estella Vilda Vlcek at their home in Wilber. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilber. On February 22, 1950, Ellen married Herbert Vlasak in Beatrice, and together they were blessed with three children.

Ellen was a dedicated homemaker and also worked as a cook at the Wilber-Clatonia schools for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, camping, playing cards, sewing, quilting, and cake decorating. These hobbies brought her much joy. Ellen was the kind of grandmother who always had a treat waiting, with ice cream and cookies stocked in the freezer for snacks. Her grandchildren knew they could count on her to have a fun craft or activity ready, making every visit a special and creative experience.

Ellen is survived by three children: Karen Jurgens (friend Donna Kyker) of Lincoln, Roger (Diane) Vlasak of Wilber, and Gail (Brian) May of Wilber; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Rose (Frank) Svancara of Fountain Hills, AZ; step-sister, Wilma Zavadil of Lincoln; step-brother, Lloyd (Sandy) Vlcek of Ocala, FL; step-sisters-in-law, Emily Vlcek of Lincoln, and Judy Vlcek of Niantic, CT.

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; mother, Estella Vilda Vlcek; father, Lydamor Vilda; stepfather, William Vlcek; brother, Don (Violet) Vilda; step-brothers, John Vlcek and Ralph Vlcek; step-brother-in-law, Dean Zavadil; brother-in-law, Lawrence (Alice) Vlasak; sister-in-law, Pearl (Lawrence) Focken; son-in-law, Eugene Jurgens; and grandson-in-law, Eric Pishney.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 15, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber.
