Elmer "Butch" Hager (67) peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Butch was born on August 2,1950 in Baltimore Md. to Elmer G. and Dorothy Hager. Butch, always known to be a little bit on the mischievous side met a pretty blonde tutor named Sandie Boston who calmed him down and became the love of his life. They were united in marriage on Sept 19,1970. Together they had two children, Phillip came first and Laurianne followed four years later. Butch was a hard working loyal employee of ABC News in Washington D.C. for 30 years. Butch enjoyed many hobbies over the years like tossing horseshoes and was always ready for a game of cards. Butch enjoyed coaching his son in baseball. The sport of baseball in general was always something he found a lot of pleasure in, from cheering on his beloved Orioles, to filling a room full of baseball cards and memorabilia and various other collectibles. Butch always enjoyed fishing whenever he could, although that gave way later in life to beloved trips to the beach with Sandie. Whenever a trip to the ocean with Sandie or his sister Kathy and nephew Michael was not planned you could be rest assured they were probably on their way to one of Butchs' happiest places on earth, Disney World. As much as Butch loved all these things, he loved his family more. He is survived by his wife Sandie Hager ( Crete,Ne) His daughter Laurie Moore (Crete,Ne)and spouse Shawn. His son Phillip and spouse Ramona. Sister Kathy Hager-Schoff, Brother Robert Hager. Grandchildren Kailey, Erykah, Lane and Cole and numerous nieces and nephews. Butch was preceded in death by his parents Elmer G and Dorothy Hager and his sister Darlene Hammond.
Services will be Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:30 a.m., Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete. Viewing will be 1 hour prior to services.
