Elvin George Kvasnicka passed away on March 25, 2025, at The Wilber Care Center in Wilber, Nebraska. He was born at home in rural Saline County to Otto and Mary (Nemec) Kvasnicka on February 23, 1937. He attended district 88 rural school and Crete High School. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany.
Elvin married Roseline K. Kvasnicka (Brolhorst) and they worked hard and raised their family in the Crete area. He worked at the Crete Mills for 35 years before retiring in 2002.
Elvin is survived by son, Kevin (Julie) Kvasnicka and grandsons: Ethan Kvasnicka and Kendall Pierce. Sister, Dorothy Gertsch. Many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roseline "Kay, daughters: Pamela Pierce and Diane Kvasnicka. Parents, Otto and Mary Kvasnicka, and seven siblings: Gilbert and Irvin Stehlik, Norma Maca, Lumir Kvasnicka, Helen Cookus, Mary Laudenback, and Franklin Kvasnicka.
He liked to polka dance, raise a garden, fish for catfish in the Big Blue River, and enjoy bonfires at home while enjoying a cold beverage. He always had at least one dog and had a passion for his John Deere antique tractors and toys. He enjoyed helping his cousin, Bobby Joe Kvasnicka with harvest almost every year.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 - 3 PM at the funeral home. Memorials are in care of the family for future designation. Burial at Lincoln Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
