Erma Marie Bors, 87, of Wilber, passed away Wednesday, July 5th, 2017 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born to James and Emma (Zoubek) Kotas on September 5th, 1929, the last of 4 children on the family farm east of Milligan. Erma attended rural school district 120 through the 8th grade. She then helped on the family farm. Erma was united in marriage to Glen F. Bors on December 14th, 1949 in Fairbury, Nebraska. The couple resided on the family farm west of Wilber, farming together for 43 years. They did everything together and were seldom apart. The couple didn't have children of their own, so they were very good to the younger farmers in the neighborhood and to their nieces and nephews. They would help neighbors butcher pork, beef, and chickens, and help with anything else that was needed. They enjoyed traveling with family and friends and took many trips all over the U.S., Canada, and Hawaii. Glen and Erma retired in 1992 and moved to Wilber. After retiring, they made noodles, picked out walnuts, and gave jars of walnuts away to friends. They also enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends. Erma put in many hours volunteering at the Wilber museum. She got the Lady of Libuse award in 2011. She was also a member of ZCBJ Lodge 389. Erma was a very good cook, noted for rosettes and a fried buchta. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Glen, brothers and sisters in law: Frank and Sylvia Kotas, Henry and Doris Kotas, Alfred and Gladys Kotas and Alfred's first wife: Helen. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorials in lieu of flowers will be donated to the Wilber Rescue Squad. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 11th, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. Visitation beginning on Monday at 2 p.m. Family will greet friends from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
