Ernestine Hilda Alma (Baack) Warta passed away on February 7, 2016 at the age of 94. Born on October 21, 1921 in Winters, Texas to Ernest Otto and Alma Matilda Dorthea (Turk) Baack. She married Anton Warta on September 9, 1948.
Ernestine was the City Clerk for Wilber, Nebraska and assistant administrator/bookkeeper at the Wilber Nursing Home for twenty years and retired on February 27, 1987. She enjoyed family visiting and would always offer to send food home with them.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ernest and Edward Baack, sister Elfrieda Stuhmer, and daughter-in-law Diane Warta.
Survived by husband Anton Warta of Wilber, Nebraska, Adele (Alfred) Teet of Swanton, Nebraska, Arlen (Anne) Warta of Golden, Colorado, Alfred (Deanna) Warta of Wilber, Nebraska, Daniel Warta of Wilber, Nebraska, and David (Vicky Shearer) Warta of LaVista, Nebraska. 5 grandchildren: Randy (Lisa) Teet, Gregory (Mikayla) Teet both of Lincoln, Anthony Warta, Timothy Warta, and Jeana Warta of Wilber. 3 great-grandchildren: Gavin and Adeline Teet and Meredith Sheets.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wilber. Viewing beginning Wednesday, 1 PM with family greeting friends from 5-8 PM at Kuncl Funeral Home, Wilber. Interment: Wilber Czech Cemetery. Memorials are in care of the family.
