Ernie H. Zoubek, 91, of Wilber, NE passed away on March 13, 2016. He was born Feb. 2, 1925 to John Sr. & Albina Zoubek on the farm near Western. He attended grade school District #106 thru the 8th grade. He served in the Army and upon returning continued to farm. On June 23, 1949 he was united in marriage to Rose (Rosie) M Sasek to which they were blessed with six children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ernie enjoyed supporting his family and all their endeavors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and passed those skills on to his family. He was awarded the Honorary Nebraska FFA State Farmer degree and Ak-Sar-Ben 100 year Farm Family Award. He was a lifelong Z.C.B. J. Lodge Member. He retired from farming and moved to Wilber in 2011.

Survivors: loving wife of 66 yrs, Rose of Wilber; children, Gary (Pamela) Zoubek of York, Stanley (Bonita) Zoubek of Tobias, Nancy Kratochvil of Swanton, Mary (Kelly) Homolka of Wilber, Kathy (James) Mammen of Western, Vicky (Tom) Culver of Lincoln; 28 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; sister, Albina Vacek of Western; sister-in-law, Betty Kohout of Friend; brother-in-law, Joe (Ginny) Sasek of Wilber.

Preceded in death by parents, John Sr. & Albina Zoubek; son-in-law, Richard Kratochvil; mother & father-in-law, Robert & Tillie Sasek; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward (Bernice) Zoubek, John (Evelyn) Zoubek, Ben (Lillian Zoubek) and Henry as an infant; sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia (Frank) Kotas; brother-in-law, Adolph Vacek; brothers-in-law, Robert Sasek Jr. & Robert Kohout.

Funeral Services 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Kuncl Funeral Home, Wilber with Pastor Lila Bottolfsen officiating. Visitation on Wednesday will be 5-8 PM with family greeting friends 6-7:30 PM at the funeral home in Wilber. Interment at Wilber Czech Cemetery. Memorials care of the family for future designation.
