Obituary

Eugene T. Hogan Sr. 83, of Crete, passed away on January 22nd, 2018. Gene was born July 9th, 1934 in Marysville, KS to Thomas and Agnes Hogan.

He grew up on the farm and worked a variety of jobs before joining the US Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War era and served as a part of the United Nations Command in Japan.

After the military, Gene worked as a maintenance man at Lincoln General, Bryan Hospital, Sky Park Apartments, Gramaecy Hill, and the Ramada Inn. It was while working at the Ramada Inn, he meet his soul mate, OT Delisle. Later in life he worked as greeter at Wal-Mart in Beatrice, NE.

Gene loved working with his hands. He owned a table that he made for his parents while in high school. He was an accomplished wood carver. He made many wood carved sculptures for family and friends.

Gene loved animals, especially horses. He had a painting made of all his pets.

Gene was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather to his family.

He was proceed in death by the love of his life, his wife, OT Delisle, Parents Thomas and Agnes Hogan, Sisters Mildred, Thelma, and still born infant sister, brother Raymond, and his ex-wife Sharon, Mother of Thomas, David, and Daniel.

Gene is survived by his daughters: Angie(Jerry) Parker, Crete, NE, Michelle (Aaron) Harkless, Greeley, Co; Sons: Thomas, David, Daniel (Mengyuan), and Eugene Jr. (Jess) of Lincoln, NE, Nieces and Nephews, Numerous Grand Children, Great Grand Children and cousins.

Gene wish was to be cremated, No visitation. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday January 25th at 4:00 PM at Centennial Terrace in Crete, NE. Memorials to the family. Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete is handling arrangements.
