Evelyn Marie Buzek, 98, of Crete, passed away on May 22 ^nd , 2021.  Widow of Rudolph A. Buzek.  She was born on June 29, 1922, Saline Co. NE. to Frank and Mary Kohel Svarc.  Shewa raised on a farm near Crete.  Her brother, Leonard and she attended country school District #3.  She married Rudy, Feb. 23, 1944 at Wilber Court House.  Evelyn graduated from Crete High in 1940.  Before marriage she did office work and later helped her husband with farming around Milligan and Crete.  In 1946 a daughter, Karen Ann was born.  In 1956 they moved to Crete.  Evelyn worked at Formfit Rogers for 27 years.  She and Rudy enjoyed camping with their RV, trips to casino and polka dances.  They celebrated their 50 ^th anniversary in Feb. 1994 and a month later, Rudy died from diabetes and a heart problem.  She was a member of American Legion Aux-unit 147; Disabled American Veterans Aux #7 and ZCBJ Lodge #3 all of Crete.  She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, volunteering at Auxiliary, baking kolaces and rosettes.  She loved reading newspapers and listening to Czech music she was proud of her Czech heritage and loved talking with people.  She liked watching TV game shows.  Evelyn enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren from Missouri.  June 2019, she went to live at The Gardens in Crete.  She is survived by daughter, Karen (David) Cawley, Grandview, MO., Granddaughter, Lea (Joe) Vlasak, Lee Summit, MO., Grandson, Douglas (Sherri) Cawley, Columbia, MO.  Great grandchildren: Erin, Blake and Evan Vlasak; Anna and Weston, Cawley.  Niece, Judy Svarc, Nephew, Dale Svarc.  Sister-in-law, Enola Buzek and many nieces and nephews and many cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Leonard and Delma Svarc; niece Carol Svarc Frew.  She requested no funeral.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Kuncl Funeral Home. Private family burial, Crete Riverside Cemetery.  Memorials are requested to the family.
