October 25, 1943 – June 15, 2019
Franklin A. Zach was born October 25, 1943 in Saline County on a farm west of Wilber. He passed away on Saturday, June 15th, 2019 in Wilber surrounded by loved ones. He was the son of Charley Sr. and Augusta (Kasparek) Zach. He grew up and attended school in Wilber where he graduated High School in 1962. Frank served in the army where he was stationed in Germany. In 1966 he married Lois Uldrich and they made their home in Wilber and had 3 children: Sharmin, Wendy & Chad. He worked many years as a machine operator at Nestle Purina in Crete, Nebraska for 38 years retiring in 2009. He loved family gatherings, especially when there was a Husker football game on. He enjoyed going to his grandchildren's ball games, being outside, gardening and yard work and everything about Czech days, especially time spent with family and friends, going to the parades, Polka music, the alumni band and the duck and kraut. He also enjoyed going to the casino for a fun weekend. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Robert and wife Helen, Gene, Charles, Jr. & Edward, sister, Helen Kellogg and husband Robert, grandson, Noah Zach, in laws: Rudy & Lola Uldrich. Frank is survived by his wife, Lois, brother, Alvin & Phyllis Zach, sisters in law: MaryAnn Zach (Lincoln) & MaryAnn Zach (Wilber), daughters: Sharmin and son in law Ernie Ekstein of Tobias, NE & Wendy and son in law Jess Ingwersen of David City, NE, son, Chad and daughter in law Melanie Zach of Elk Point, SD. 7 grandchildren: Kami and husband Kirk Braden of Wilber, Kyra Jiskra of Omaha, Evie Ingwersen (Kyle Poort) of Malvern, IA, Allie Ingwersen of David City, Jake Ingwersen of David City, Aiden and Ryker Zach of Elk Point, SD. Great Grandchildren: Raeleigh Braden of Wilber, and Jace Poort of Malvern, IA, as well as several nieces, nephews and other loved ones. Visitation: Tuesday, 5 – 8 PM, Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete. Services: Wednesday, 10:30 AM, Kuncl Funeral Home, Wilber. Please be aware locations for visitation and services are different. Fellowship to follow immediately after funeral service at the Wilber Care Center. Memorials in care of family. Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber is handling arrangements.
