Halada
October 18, 1937 – April 29, 2023
Franklin Dean Halada was born October 18, 1937 in Wilber, Nebraska. He died April 29, 2023 in Lincoln, Nebraska at age 85. Frank graduated Crete High School in 1955 and married Norma Jean Henning in October 1962.
He was preceded in death by parents Frank and Helen Halada, sister Patricia Halada Reighard, daughter Mary Jane Halada, son David A. Halada and wife Norma Jean Halada
Survivors include son Robert D. Halada of Lincoln, Nebraska, daughter Stacia Halada Jorgensen and husband Edan Jorgensen or Lehi, Utah, grandchildren Kaitlyn and Rebecca Halada of Lincoln, Nebraska and grandchildren Ezra and Nora Jorgensen of Lehi, Utah. Additional survivor includes close personal friend and travel companion Darlene Zalesky of Wilber, Nebraska.
Franklin was raised and lived in the Crete area his entire life. He was raised on a farm and continued to farm east of Crete part-time up until his death. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Sill Oklahoma. Franklin taught automotive mechanics and technology at Southeast Community College in Milford for 35 years. He was an avid woodworker, gardener, tree planter and enthusiast, and outstanding farm tractor mechanic. He enjoyed visiting with friends and colleagues, traveling and spending time with his family.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 - 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorials are in care of the family for future designation. Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
