Gary Eugene Henning, age 70, of Crete, passed away August 13, 2022 in Lincoln.  Gary was born on June 15, 1952 in Crete.  He graduated from Crete High School in 1970.  On May 25, 1974, he married Deb Richardson and together they raised their three children.  Gary retired in 2017 after working for the City of Crete Water Department for 45 years.  He enjoyed gardening and tinkering around his garage.  Gary is survived by his loving wife Deb; children:  Jason (Brenda) Henning, Kerri (James) Henshaw and Jeremy Henning and special friend LeeAnna Brennenstuhl; 12 grandchildren:  Emalee Henning, Connor Henning, Andrew Henning, Nickolas Henning, Ashton Emmett, Sadie Emmett, Tyler Henshaw, Colin Henshaw, Josh Henshaw, Addison Henshaw, Alex Henshaw and Landon Henshaw; and siblings:  Bob (Barb) Henning, Joann (Fred) Kozak, Dale Henning and Diane (Rodney) Mundt.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lois (Wells) Henning; and siblings:  Merle Henning and Richard Henning.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.  Casual attire is requested.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  Memorials are in care of the family for future designation.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
