Gene C. Douglas passed away on March 20, 2022 at Lancaster Rehab. in Lincoln at the age of 96.  He was born on May 14, 1925 to William Harold Douglas and Barbara (Cox) Douglas.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife:  Donnette Lou Douglas, brothers:  Gerald (at infancy), Donald, and Warren, sisters:  Dorothy, Loraine, and twin Jeanette.  He is survived by his sons and daughters in law:  Michael and Cynthia Douglas of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Mark Alan Douglas of Crete, daughters and sons in law:  Barbara Dee and Raymond Dean Chase of Tekamah, Nebraska, and Christine Lee and Denis Strobel of Bluffton, South Carolina.  Grandsons:  Michael Gene Douglas and Stuart Douglas.  Granddaughters:  Mrs. Amy Wemhoff, Dr. Kari Strobel, Ms. Tiffini Douglas, and Mrs. Marci Woehler.  10 great grandchildren.  Nephews, nieces and cousins.  He served his country in Europe during World War II with the 70th Division Infantry.  Gene requested private family services be held in his honor.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
