Genevieve Phyllis Kumpost, age 92 of Wilber Nebraska passed away on 28 December 2018. Visitation will be held at the Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber Nebraska from 9:00-11:00 am on Friday 04 January 2019. A graveside only service will be held at the Plainview Cemetery in Western Nebraska at 11:30 AM the same day. Fellowship to follow at Sokol Hall in Wilber.

Genevieve was born in Western Nebraska the daughter of Jesse and Lillie Gross. She married Henry E. Kumpost on 14 October 1950. She was a teacher for five years at two rural schools in Saline county. She worked in the Pierce County Treasurer's office for 17 years. She retired in 1988 and moved to Wilber with her husband, Henry. In Wilber she worked in the Saline County Treasurers office part time. But her favorite thing to do was to volunteer and bake Kolaches at Sokol hall. She did this for 15 years. She loved the annual Czech Days festival and she always had a smile for those that she served. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary for 25 years.

Genevieve is survived by her children, Randy (Mary) Kumpost of Martell, NE and Corliss (Gary) Ayers of Eagan MN and 8 grandchildren - James Saisa, Desiree Palan, Chayton Kumpost, Courtney (Mathew) Schmidt; Garrett, Caleb, Geoffrey and Giovanna Ayers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, brother Harlan, sister Nadine and grandson Colter.  Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber is handling arrangements.
