Gladys G. Burda was born September 24, 1927 on a farm in Saline County near Tabor Hall to George, Sr. and Emma (Rezabek) Kasl, the sixth of nine children, and passed away on December 4, 2021 in Crete at the age of 94.  She attended District 62 to the eighth grade and attended Dorchester High and graduated in 1944.  She worked at the Fairmont Creamery, Gooch's, Crete Mills, Crete Cleaners, the East Bar in Dorchester as a waitress, and helped her parents on the farm.  Gladys was united in marriage to Warren Burda on September 24, 1949 at the Courthouse in Wilber.   They moved to the family farm west of Wilber where they raised three children:  Janice, Shirley and Larry.  She dressed chickens, ducks and geese, sold eggs, gardened and canned, and helped on the family farm.  Her enjoyment was 5-point pitch, crafts, embroidery, flowers and most of all, her family and grandchildren.  In 1980, Warren and Gladys moved into their new home in Wilber.  She enjoyed visiting on the phone, polka music, Halloween and Christmas.  Recently, she received her 75 year member pin from Tabor where she was an active member in her younger years.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters:  Helen Halada, Dorothy Kotas, and Evelyn Branzovsky, brothers:  Frank Kasl, Edward Kasl, daughter, Janice Slama, and grandson, Dale Zoubek.  Gladys is survived by her daughter and son in law:  Shirley and Randy Zoubek of Western, son and daughter in law:  Larry and Elaine of Wilber, grandchildren and spouses:  Greg and Jessica Zoubek of Firth, Brian and Katie Zoubek of Western, Russell Zoubek of Dorchester and friend Missy Vnoucek (Alexis and Chase), Andrew Zoubek of Friend, Roger and Kara Burda of Wilber, Craig and Kira Burda of Winona, Minnesota, Todd and Megan Burda of Geneva, Christine McClucas of Lemoyne, Pennsylvania.  Great grandchildren:  Quade Potter, Kohen Burda, Olivia Zoubek, Kelsey Zoubek, Monica Zoubek, Aubrey Zoubek, Phillip Zoubek, Jace Burda, Afton Burda, Levi Burda, Max Burda, Beau Burda, Ryker Burda, Stephanie McClucas, Nicole McClucas, Dakota McClucas, Kaylee McClucas, and great great grandson Blain Myers.  Brothers and sisters in law:  Robert and Marva Kasl, George, Jr. and Shirley Kasl, Richard and Shirley Kasl.  Sister in law:  Evelyn Kasl.  Many Nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are:  Greg Zoubek, Brian Zoubek, Russell Zoubek, Andrew Zoubek, Roger Burda, Craig Burda and Todd Burda.  Honorary Pallbearers are her great grandchildren.  Services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 – 7 P.M. at the funeral home.  Memorials are in care of the family for future designation.
