Gladys G. (Salda) Kotas (widow of Alfred) passed to eternal rest on February 24, 2017 at the Wilber Care Center. She was born on a farm northeast of Wilber on September 4, 1929 to Lumir and Bertha (Duba) Salda. She graduated from Wilber High School in 1946.

In 1969 she retired from her secretarial position with the City of Lincoln and married Alfred J. Kotas of Western and spent many happy years 5 miles north on the curve of the old "Sunshine Highway", enjoying farm life, raising cattle, hogs, poultry, crops, gardening, fishing, camping, Al's auctioneering, along with new found family and friends.

Survivors include 2 children from her first marriage to Calvin Nickles in 1946 where she lived on a farm near Swanton; daughter, Linda Kay and spouse David Bright; son, Dale Duane Nickles all of Lincoln, NE; 6 grandchildren, Michael (Karen) Bright of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kristina (David) Monismith of Gretna, NE, James (Mindy) Bright of North Carolina, Pennie Nickles, Robyn Nickles, Sunnie Kanter all of Lincoln, NE; 8 great grandchildren, Aaron (Nicole) Bright of Lincoln, NE, Charles Bright of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kyle Monismith, Megan Monismith, Ashley Monismith all of Gretna, NE, Skylar Nickles, Jace Nickles, Krew Kanter all of Lincoln, NE; sister, Irma (Warren) Ripa; brother, Harold (Carla) Salda; sister-in-law, Erma Bors all of Wilber, NE; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred in 2008; parents, Lumir and Bertha Salda; infant sister, Eleanor Salda; sister, Stella (and husband, Norman) Beck; brother, Norman Salda; infant niece Ripa; nephew, Michael Salda; brothers-in-law, Henry (and wife, Doris) Kotas, Frank (and wife, Sylva) Kotas, and Glen Bors.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber, NE with Pastor Lila Bottolfsen officiating.
