Obituary

Harry Vance Trepka, Jr . was born February 14, 1922 in Crete, NE to Harry Sr. and Olie Trepka,
He went to school at District 18, to the 8th grade. Harry farmed with his dad North of Crete and
served in the U.S Army. He was sent to South Korea during the Korean war. After returning home, he worked at the Crete Mills & then returned to farming and lived on a farm North of Crete where he still
resided. His first wife Lydia passed away February 13, 1975. On April 14, 1978, he married Alice Scheideler at Beatrice and they celebrated 39 years together. He was very active in gardening and taking care of the lawn, planting trees and raising vegetables. He also had Herford cattle. He enjoyed his American Eskimo dog (named Tweety) and a number of cats. Harry enjoyed his John Deere tractor and harvesting his crops, kept up cutting little trees and working outside until the last of September. He also enjoyed going into Crete to talk to friends and having coffee. Czech music on Sunday was one of his listening enjoyments. He passed away November 3, 2017 in Bryan Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his wife Alice Trepka, son James Scheideler, sister Phyllis Wendelin and brother in-law August Wendelin and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by first wife
Lydia, brother Arnold, and sister Irene and his parents. He is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Crete, NE. Services are set for Wednesday November 8 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church in Crete, NE. Rosary at 7:00 Tuesday November 7th. Visitation is from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm at Kuncl Funeral
