Henry Junior Wenz, 89, Firth (formerly of Hallam) Nebraska died January 3, 2016 at
Lakeview Assisted Living in Firth, Nebraska.
He was born in Hallam on September 7, 1926 to Henry and Emma Leonhardt Wenz.
Henry was called Junior to distinguish him from his dad also named Henry. He attended
Hallam High School graduating in 1943. He married Joan H. Von Busch on June 7,
1951 and they raised two sons, Mike and Steve. Together with his brother, Stan "Bud",
he owned and operated the Wenz Mobil service station for 38 years. Junior lived in
Hallam most of his life until the Hallam tornado in 2004 when he moved to Firth.
Junior enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, computers and electronics, tinkering, building,
and gardening. His tomato plants were huge and very productive. He loved to tinker
with electronics and could wire up TV s and computers to do most anything.
Junior served in the armed forces from December of 1944 to April of 1945. He was one
of the founding members of the Hallam Legion Post 294 and has been a member for 67
years.
Junior is survived by his sons and wives: Mike and Jeanne, Steve and Becky, grandsons and wives: Russell and Angie Wenz and their daughters: Caroline, Maddie, Cassie and Brooklyn; Scott and Stephanie Wenz and their daughters: Olivia, Hannah and Sophia; Tony and Tracy Wenz; granddaughter: Katie Wenz; sister in law and brother in law: Betty and Jon Grenseman, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Emma Wenz, wife: Joan, parents in law: William and Anna Von Busch, sisters: Marie Isley and Lois Anderson, brothers: Clyde, Lee, Earl, Leonard, and Stanley.
Memorials may be made to the family or may be given to the Hallam Legion Post 294,
Lakeview Assisted Living Center in Firth, or the Hallam United Congregational Church.
Funeral services are Wednesday (1-06-2016), 10:30 am, Hallam United Congregational Church. Interment: Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation: Tuesday, 5 - 7 pm, Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete.
