Irene Richtarik, 95, of Wilber, NE, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. She was born to Frank and Milena (Kodejs) Filipi in Denton, NE on July 12, 1923. She married Stanley E. Richtarik on December 18, 1945 in Marysville, KS, and to this union 6 children were born. Irene was a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a farm wife and along with her husband Stanley, owned and operated Ricks Place. Later on she worked at the Wilber Care Center and had a daycare for many years. Many of her daycare children continued calling her Grandma throughout their lives. She loved gardening, baking, crocheting, and trips to the casino or playing keno. She also enjoyed her Saturday shopping trips where she always had grandchildren or daycare children along with her. Irene is survived by her children: Ronnie Richtarik, Connie (Melvin) Maas, Lori (David) Lynch, all of Wilber NE, daughter in law, Melisse Richtarik of Holton, KS, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters: Alice Vlasak, Alma Fittro, Edna Koll, sisters in law: Virginia Filipi and Phyllis Filipi, as well as nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Frank & Milena Filipi, husband, Stanley E. Richtarik, sons: Stanley W. Richtarik, Michael C. Richtarik, and infant son Russell A. Richtarik, brothers: Richard Filipi, Elmer (Bernice) Filipi, Frank Filipi, Alvin Filipi, Edward (Elizabeth) Filipi, sister, Mildred Kvasnicka, and special friend Donald Vilda. Services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber, NE at 10:30 am. A fellowship following the services will be at the Wilber Care Center. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00 at the funeral home. Memorials are in care of Kuncl Funeral Home.
