Irma (Salda) Ripa, daughter of Lumir and Bertha (Duba) Salda was born on a farm east of Wilber on June 29, 1926 and passed away on July 16, 2018 at the Wilber Care Center at the age of 92 years and 17 days. She grew up on the farm and attended District 4 rural school and graduated with the Class of 1944 from Wilber High School. On July 12, 1944 she was united in marriage to Warren L. Ripa. The couple lived in Wilber most of their lives except for five years they lived on the Ripa Homestead being the fourth generation, and 14 months in Estes Park, Colorado. They moved back to Wilber, then Lincoln and back to Wilber in 2000. Irma was a permanent member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 101 of Wilber, being a Past President and held other offices. She was a member of the Past Presidents Parley, also 8/40 Bon Chere, member of the National Rural Letter Carrier Auxiliary being a past District Chairman, member of First Lutheran Church of Wilber, former Vice Chairman of Saline County Democratic Central Committee and past officer of the Saline County Democratic Women, a Judge on the Saline County Election Board and Judge on the Lancaster Election Board. She received the Order of the Ladies of Libuse in August of 1982. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Warren L. Ripa, sister-in-law Eunice Mae Ripa, sister Eleanor Salda, sister and brother-in-law Stella and Norman Beck, sister and brother-in-law Gladys and Alfred Kotas, brother Norman Salda, brother-in-law Joseph Simecek, grandson Todd Albert and an infant daughter. She is survived by daughter Karen Albert and Barry Sullivan of Las Cruces, New Mexico, son Loren Ripa and Roberta (Bobbie Kunc) of Wilber, grandchildren Kimberly (Albert) and husband Peter Collingwood, Jason Ripa and Carli Israelson, Jennifer (Ripa) and husband Brian Pospisil and great-grandchildren Logan Matos, Kerilynn Matos, Kaden Albert, Gavin Pospisil and Bria Pospisil, sister-in-law Lois (Ripa) Simecek, and other family Dennis Albert, Jax Israelson, Kadin and Bryston Davis, nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Thursday, July 19th, 2018 at 10:30 am at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilber. Interment in Wilber Czech Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 - 8 pm at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber. Memorials may be given to the church or to the Wilber Legion Auxillary. Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber is in charge of arrangements.
