Janet "Jan" K. Verbeek (Harms) was born in Crete Ne on June 10 ^th , 1947, to William and Betty Harms. She passed away on April 23 ^rd , 2023, in Lincoln Ne. She graduated from Crete High school and continued her education at SCC for an administrative degree. She raised her 3 beautiful children in Hickman Ne. She spent her life devoted to her family, and blessing everyone who met her with a beautiful smile, and a warm and gentle presence. There were never any strangers with her around. She would sit and chat with people for hours. She brought joy to all that knew her. She was the kindest, most loving, caring, and humble person. She wanted her children and grandchildren to feel loved every waking moment. She was the oldest sibling and took that role seriously, always helping Betty with her siblings.

She is survived by her children, Mike (BJ) Verbeek, Julie (Leon) Bergfield, and Heather (Keeley) Verbeek. Her grandchildren Jenevra Rowe, Jerilyn Zarnick & family, Janda Turner & family, Brandon Verbeek & family, Chantelle Bergfield & family, Emily Bergfield & family, Jaelyn, Brynlee, and Aspen Verbeek. Her siblings: Judy (Mike) Baker, Richard Harms, and Darla (Steve) Muff. Along with many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, her faithful dog companion Luna, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Betty Harms, brother Allen Harms, brother Randy Harms, brother Steven Harms, beloved father/mother-in-law Willie and Donna Verbeek, granddaughter Bayleigh Bergfield, niece Stacy Muff, and niece Jill Harms.

Funeral Services are Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. Visitation is on Thursday from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorials are in care of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
