Jean Ann (Placek) Tachovsky joined the Lord on August 28, 2019. She was born on August 3, 1926 in Swanton, NE to William and Lydia (Houser) Placek. She had one older sister, LaVerne Ruff, and one younger brother, Joseph William Placek. She attended and graduated from Swanton in 1942. Jean was united in marriage to Lester Tachovsky on January 28, 1948 at the Courthouse in Lincoln, NE on a cold, cold day. From this union came three sons; Kevin, William and John. Jean lived her life to the fullest as a farm wife, mother and grandma. She was an avid Auxiliary Member for 70 years holding positions of secretary, treasurer and President. Jean loved her family, community and the Lord. She was baptized and an active congregational member of Swanton United Methodist Church. Jean is preceded in death by her father, William; mother, Lydia; sister, LaVerne; brother, William; husband, Lester; son, John; mother and father-in-law, William and Clara Tachovsky; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lavina and Ervin Fuchs. Survivors include sons, William and Kevin Tachovsky; daughter-in-law, Kathy Tachovsky; grandchildren, Scott Tachovsky and partner Shannon, Wade (Jennifer) Tachovsky, Kim Davis and partner Jason, Jennifer (Lee) Burkhardt, Kenneth (Becky) Tachovsky, and Daniel (Jennie) Tachovsky; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Services: Tuesday, September 3, 2019, 10:30 AM, Kuncl Funeral Home, Wilber. Visitation: Monday, 5 – 8 PM, funeral home. Casual attire is requested by the family. Pastor Lila Bottolfsen will officiate. Burial will be at Wilber Czech Cemetery following the Memorial Service. Memorials in lieu of flowers can be given to the Swanton Auxiliary. Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber is handling arrangements.
